Whole Health: Strategies to Manage Co-Occurring Mental Health Disorders

Join us for an engaging session with the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana as they explore how substance use and mental health recovery can be supported through multi-disciplinary coordination. This session will share strategies to manage co-occurring mental health disorders in rural and tribal settings that often require coordination across departments, nuanced prescription management, and a team-first approach.
When: August 26 at 11:30 am – 12:30 pm Central/12:30 pm – 1:30 pm Eastern
Who should attend: Public health officials, counselors, psychiatrists, social workers, clinicians, service providers, clinical administration staff, Tribal leaders, and others with interest.
Learning objectives: Participants will gain an understanding of:
- How to manage co-occurring mental health disorders in a rural, tribal setting.
- Team focused, multi-disciplinary integration strategies from prevention to after care as well as how to address stigma and other influences.
- Culturally appropriate integration of care.
- Co-occurring issues that are prevalent and the successes and challenges experienced in administering care.
- Advantages and barriers to integrated care.
