Mpox

As of August 14, 2024, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the recent upsurge of Mpox, particularly in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and surrounding African nations, a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). This decision follows a surge in cases linked to two distinct strains of the Mpox virus, leading to significant increases in both severe and widespread outbreaks. USET remains vigilant and committed to providing timely and accurate updates to tribal communities in the United States. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and ensure our communities receive relevant information and guidance as the global response evolves.
